Mine I think is episode 5 "On the brink" about Ros going undercover in the bank. I though the story was very well written. I particularly liked Paul Rhys as Alexis Meynell, an excellent actor and liked how the character was written and had a bit of a twist to his personality. The ending was good too.

I really enjoyed this ep too - there was some of the ambiguity that was more common in the earlier series and fantastic performances too.
I think that my fav ep in S7 was ep2 the submarine ep, because despite all the fantastical technology I really enjoyed Malcolm's anger and the flash of ultra-spy Lucas.

I loved all of series 7 but I think my favourite episodes were 7.3 (the bank). I also loved the last two episodes where Lucas went to Russia and the final episode with Connie's secret exposed and Harry the whole sugarhorse saga.

You *enjoyed* Connie being evil??? I have to watch those two episodes from behind a cushion, even though I've watched them coughlotscough of times!

No I didnt enjoy her being evil - well not really but I loved how her character developed and her confronation with Ros was outstanding. Remember when Lucas returned? She did warn us
Lucas : ah Connie James the stuff of legend
Connie : The stuff of nightmares possibly
She warned them right there. Plus I think the scene when she told Lucas it wasnt Harry that had betrayed him was brilliant. The look on Lucas' face was priceless.

Oh yes - absolutely, but I find now that I watch the whole of S7 thinking "arghh - you treacherous b***h" and looking for nuances within her performance for clues of what's to come!

I always look forward to watching or reading things the second time through for those reasons too, details and clues.
My favorite ep. in S7 was 7.2 because of the scene in the bar with Harry and Ros drinking together and talking of revenge. Intense doesn't begin to cover it.

nice, I didnt pay attention to that warning when she said it
the 2 finale blew me away, I've been suspicious with Connie, but I didnt think she would kill Ben
my favorite is is "The Witness", when Lucas had to babysit that kid, Dean
the ending is real strong, cos I guess I kind of see that coming since that kid is really irritating, and the part where he got shot and his blood splatter all over the elevator was a very strong scene
first episode also really strong, they had to let Adam go in a spectacular blast
killing Adam, Ben and Connie all in one season, the writers are cold!!
but thats what makes me like this show so much

Connie is a real old school spy (actually she is probably exaggerated as Gemma is only in her sixties, so she would have been joining the service in the late 60's/early seventies, her behaviour is more of the Burgess/Maclean/Philby era (as shown by Le Carre), which was 50's.
Maybe she's meant to be older but It looks like a clear nod to things like Tinker Tailor and Smiley's People from the 70's.
